The 19th annual iPhone Photography Awards (IPPAWARDS) have announced their winners, celebrating photographers worldwide who use the camera in their pocket. The competition showcases intimate portraits, quiet landscapes, and abstract studies of light, form, and colour.
Grand Prize Winner
Robyn Jensen from Yepocapa, Chimaltenango, Guatemala, took the grand prize and was named Photographer of the Year. Her winning image captures a striking moment in her hometown.
Category Winners
First place in the animals category went to Peter Crome, followed by Barry Mayes in second and 博宇 温 (Boyu Wen) in third. In lifestyle, Bertram Greenhough claimed first, Sara Camporesi second, and Shuo Chen third.
Architecture winners included Ziwen Chen (first), Ellen Kim (second, from Golden, New Mexico, US), and Preethy Ganesan (third, from Musaffah, Abu Dhabi). The children category saw Krystal Rountree take first, Justas Petkevicius second, and Thea Mihu third.
Nature winners were Tianjiao Zhang (first), 李阳 (Li Yang) (second), and Paul Kitcatt (third). In the people category, Jenny Dang won first, Iryna Nemyrovych second, and Ioan Maga third.
Cityscape awards went to Adrian Beasley (first), Yue Yu (second), and Ha Yun Song (third, from Hat Yai, Thailand). Portrait winners included Brice Picard (first, with his image 'To Go Up in Smoke'), Carlos Rubin (second), and Alexey Lazarenko (third, from Jakarta, Indonesia).
Abstract category winners were Barry Mayes (first), Leland Smith (second), and Jo Borzsony (third). Landscape winners included Anthony Ginns (first, from Camperdown, Victoria, Australia), Stewart Manning (second, from Goblin Valley State Park, Utah, US), and Joseph Cyr (third).
Other Places
Gellert Gombai secured first place in the Photographer of the Year category, Arnold Plotnick (Amsterdam, Netherlands) took second, and Catherine Wang (Oakton, Virginia, US) earned third.
