Booktopia’s World Book Day Sale Slashes Kids’ Titles to $5

Australian online retailer Booktopia is marking World Book Day on April 23 with a one-day-only sale, reducing thousands of top children’s titles to just $5 each. The promotion aims to encourage families to commit to 15 minutes of daily reading, aligning with this year’s ‘Go All In’ theme that urges children to explore their interests through books.

The sale comes after research found that while 86% of children enjoy being read to, one in three still struggle with literacy proficiency. Booktopia hopes the discounted prices will help make reading a daily habit and highlight the role of books in development, imagination, and family connection.

Jon MacDonald, General Manager of Booktopia, said: “Reading with your child is one of the most impactful things you can do to support their learning and creativity. World Book Day is a great reminder that books have the power to inspire curiosity, spark imagination and bring families closer together — no matter how busy life gets.”
