Legendary Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting is nominated for the Bruce McAvaney Award for Most Popular Sports Presenter for his Ashes coverage. The Seven Network has also earned nominations in the Best Sports Coverage category for both the AFL Grand Final and The Ashes.

Australian Idol, Dancing With The Stars, and The 1% Club Australia are all nominated for Best Entertainment Program. The Front Bar on Seven is nominated for Best Comedy Entertainment Program; the sports talk show is co-hosted by comedian and former Logies host Sam Pang, who has been nominated for the highly coveted Gold Logie at this year's 66th awards ceremony.

Industry Praise and Voting Details

“This year’s nominations are a genuine celebration of how extraordinary Australian television has become,” TV WEEK Editorial Director Amber Giles said. “From free-to-air favourites to the streaming shows everyone has been talking about, the breadth and quality of original Australian storytelling on our screens right now is something to be proud of. These are your awards, so if a show or a star has moved you, made you laugh or kept you up past your bedtime, make your voice heard and vote!”

The night's winners will be determined by public vote and revealed on August 16 at a ceremony held at The Star Sydney. Beloved television star and wildlife warrior Robert Irwin will host this year's 66th awards. Irwin, 22, said it is one of the “most exciting things” he has been asked to do, following his popularity surge after winning the US Dancing With The Stars season last year.

Voting is now open on TV Week's website. The awards ceremony will be broadcast exclusively on Seven and 7plus.
