Jessie J Shares Raw Mastectomy Video to Promote Breast Cancer Awareness
Jessie J's Raw Mastectomy Video Boosts Cancer Awareness

British pop singer Jessie J has shared a raw video taken after her mastectomy to raise awareness about breast cancer, urging women to check their breasts and armpits regularly.

Singer's Personal Health Journey

The singer, whose real name is Jessica Ellen Cornish, has been openly documenting her health battle since announcing her diagnosis in June last year. In May, she revealed she “sobbed for hours” after learning she was cancer-free.

Now a mother of one, Cornish is using her experience to encourage other women to be aware of their bodies. The video, posted on Sunday, shows her in hospital after undergoing a right-side single mastectomy.

Raw Video Message

“A year ago today I was off my tits (literally),” Cornish captioned the video. “Check your breasts and armpits, people. It could save your life. I had a right-side single mastectomy and it’s mad how I didn’t look that rough.”

Cornish said the experience had “changed me forever” and thanked her doctor for helping her through the journey.

Diagnosis and Surgery

The Price Tag singer first revealed in June last year she was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. Shortly after her diagnosis, she underwent a mastectomy. “I was diagnosed with early breast cancer. Cancer sucks in any form, but I’m holding on to the word ‘early’,” she told fans at the time. “It’s a very dramatic way to get a boob job. I am going to disappear for a bit after Summertime Ball to have my surgery, and I will come back with massive t**s and more music.”

In August, Cornish said she had to undergo a second operation and postponed an upcoming tour. She returned to the stage in September at BBC Radio 2 in the Park in Chelmsford.

Candid Reflections

“Since I was young, so many things have happened to me. I’ve always had obscure health issues that doctors can’t figure out,” she told Women’s Health UK. “Nothing has broken me.”

Since announcing her diagnosis, Cornish has been praised for her willingness to share personal details about her journey. The British pop star has been candid about the challenges of navigating motherhood and her career while also battling cancer.

Cancer-Free News

In her May video, Cornish shared the news she was cancer-free after having an MRI and an annual check-up. Her latest clip, shared on Sunday, urged fans and followers to check their bodies regularly, saying it could save their lives.
