Three-time Logies host Sam Pang has revealed who he thinks could be helming the annual awards show this year as industry rumours swirl about his replacement.
Last month, the 52-year-old confirmed that he would be hanging up his hat as host of the 2026 TV Week Logie Awards following weeks of rampant speculation that he had bowed out of the longtime gig.
Now, the veteran presenter has given his two cents as to who he thinks could fill his shoes in the coveted role during his appearance on Nova's Fitzy, Wippa & Kate on Tuesday.
When radio host Ryan "Fitzy" Fitzgerald asked him what "whispers" he had heard within the industry about the open role, Pang wasn't afraid to name and shame.
"I think that Kitty Flanagan or Anne Edmonds or Tim McDonald and Melanie Bracewell from The Cheap Seats..." he said, adding: "I think Pete Evans would be a good one as well. There's so many that could do it!"
Pang, who has helmed the Logies for three years in a row, told The Age in May that he had "politely declined" to host the awards ceremony on August 16, closing the door on his successful tenure behind the Logies mic.
"I've had three great years, and it was wonderful, but I'm just not going to do it this year," he shared. "It was very amicable," he said of his decision to walk away from the hosting role.
However, while wishing the next Logies host the best of luck, the TV star left fans baffled when he revealed the reason he was bowing out of this year's Logies.
"I'm well aware I may never do it again, and whoever does it I'm sure will do a great job, but I just thought three was a nice number."
While Seven has not confirmed a replacement, rumours have been swirling within the network as to who could stand up to the task.
SkyNews.com.au exclusively revealed last month that Robert Irwin is being eyed up for the Logies hosting gig, among a number of other major broadcasting projects.
Irwin, who previously helmed Ten's now-axed reality series I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here alongside Julia Morris, is said to be in hot demand, with rival broadcasters like Seven believed to be exploring ways to bring him into their own entertainment line-ups.
"Robert appeals to multiple demographics and has become incredibly valuable commercially," one television insider told SkyNews.com.au. "He's someone networks believe could front several major formats over the next decade."
Industry figures claim Seven views Irwin as a natural fit for large-scale family entertainment formats due to his energetic presenting style and popularity with younger audiences.
