One of the most beloved green spaces in the Lakelands Estate is about to undergo a spectacular transformation, with developer Peet officially launching a major upgrade project for Black Swan Lake.
What's Coming to the Revitalised Park
The revitalised park will be an adventure hub for families, featuring an action-packed playground designed to thrill. The new amenities will include an exciting rope swing, a double flying fox for shared fun, and a challenging ninja course. For those who enjoy testing their balance, a log walk will be a key feature.
Beyond the play equipment, the upgrades will deliver modern barbecue areas perfect for family gatherings and a new, accessible toilet block. A core focus of the design is inclusivity, with wide, smooth pathways being installed to easily accommodate prams and wheelchairs. The play elements themselves will be engaging for children of all abilities, ensuring everyone can join in the fun.
Community and Developer Vision Align
Paul Morgan, Peet’s WA State manager, stated that the upgrades are designed to enhance the area's natural beauty while adding long-term value for residents. He confirmed that the project is a direct response to community feedback, delivering the amenities locals have been asking for.
"Investing in quality public spaces is a key part of Peet’s approach to building sustainable, well-planned communities where residents are proud to live," Mr Morgan said.
Echoing this sentiment, Megan Cleary, a representative from the Lovable Lakelands Town Team, highlighted the park's role as a regional drawcard. "Black Swan Lake draws people not only from our suburb, but from across Mandurah and beyond," she noted. She believes the improvements will allow families to spend more quality time outdoors and will better support the local community groups and larger events that use the space.
Construction Timeline and Completion
Residents won't have to wait long to see progress. Construction is scheduled to begin later this month, with the project expected to be fully complete and ready for the community to enjoy by mid-2026.
