Australian pop star Troye Sivan has announced he will return to Australia for four live shows in November, marking his first tour in the country in over five years. The 29-year-old singer, who was born in South Africa and moved to Australia at age two, has seen a meteoric rise over the past year, performing at major events such as the Met Gala, the ARIAs, and Saturday Night Live.
Sivan's career began with a strong YouTube following and acting roles in films like X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Spud. He first hit the Billboard 200 top five with his EP TRXYE in 2014 and has since released a steady stream of pop records. His third album, Something to Give Each Other, released last year, has been his most critically acclaimed work to date.
The album's lead single, 'Rush', became one of the year's most popular songs, landing in the top 10 of triple j's Hottest 100 and appearing on year-end lists from Billboard, Rolling Stone, and Pitchfork. The accompanying music videos, including 'Rush', 'One of Your Girls', and 'Got Me Started', have garnered significant attention for their visual storytelling.
Sivan recently completed an arena tour of Europe and the UK, playing at venues such as Manchester Arena, Wembley Arena, and Amsterdam's Ziggo Dome. In September, he will co-headline arena shows across the USA with Charli xcx. His Australian tour follows a series of accolades, including ARIA Awards for best solo artist and song of the year, GQ Australia's Man of the Year, and his first Grammy nominations.
