Perth's northern coastal reaches can now be explored through a new self-guided tour called 'Stories of the Sunset Coast,' a collaborative storytelling project linking key locations along the Sunset Coast.
Tour Highlights and Themes
The tour, accompanied by a printed map and guide, covers the coastline from Two Rocks Marina's King Neptune statue down to Scarborough Beach. It is organized around three themes: people and connections; land and time; and nature and life, with short descriptions of each key site.
City of Wanneroo mayor Linda Aitken said, 'By connecting cultural sites, natural environments, heritage locations and geological features, we're helping people see the sunset coast in a whole new light. Designed for curious, inquisitive explorers, the project invites both locals and visitors to deepen their connection with the region — whether rediscovering familiar landscapes or seeking meaningful new experiences.'
Flexible Exploration Options
The trail can be completed flexibly by combining the Sunset Coast Tourist Drive and the Perth-Yanchep train line, allowing visitors to choose their own pace and route.
Accessing the Guide
The guide is available at libraries, galleries, museums, and selected tourism venues across the cities of Wanneroo, Joondalup, and Stirling. A complementary digital section with more detailed information on each spot is also accessible via the Destination Perth website.
