Altim Property Completes Key West Project in Newcastle West

Newcastle-based developer Altim Property has completed the adaptive reuse of the former Gamers Motor Auctions building at 69 Parry Street in Newcastle West. The milestone was marked with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, just over a year after gaining development approval.

The redevelopment, known as Key West, transformed the landmark building into high-end commercial and medical premises featuring 12 suites. Construction was led by Newcastle building company Core Project Group, with a contemporary design by local architectural firm EJE Architecture that preserved the existing structure.

Key West includes commercial offices, medical suites, and 30 on-site parking spaces. Design features include mezzanine spaces, skylights, oversized Manhattan-style windows, and an internal courtyard. The ground floor is anchored by Parry Street Family Practice, an eight-GP clinic.

Altim Property director Ian Summers said the completion was rewarding, noting the vision was to deliver a modern space that lifts the standard of Newcastle West and provides real value to the community. The development's owner-occupiers include creative content agency Made By Moka, ENT specialist Dr Monique Parkin, and speech pathologist Teresa Dodds.

Dr Oscar Cumming, owner and principal GP of Parry Street Family Practice, said the location and vision behind Key West made it ideal for the clinic, citing the growth of Newcastle West with high-density residential developments and light rail. A limited number of commercial and medical specialist suites remain available for sale.

According to Cotality records, Altim Property paid $7.55 million for the two-storey building and a neighbouring property in January 2024. Altim Property has also completed the Swift and Arbour office projects on Hunter Street in Newcastle.
