A peak hour breakdown on the Mitchell Freeway northbound is causing significant traffic chaos as commuters begin heading home for the weekend. The incident, reported by Main Roads at 3:14pm, is located on the freeway entry from Reid Highway in Carine.
The vehicle has blocked the right lane of the entry ramp, leading to major congestion as drivers attempt to merge onto the freeway. Delays are expected to worsen as the afternoon progresses.
Second Incident on Roe Highway
Further south, a crash on Roe Highway westbound has also blocked lanes on the major road. The crash is situated at Karel Avenue in Jandakot, where the two right lanes are currently blocked by the incident. Traffic is heavy leading up to the site, and motorists are advised to expect delays.
Main Roads has urged all drivers to exercise caution when travelling through these areas. Alternative routes are recommended to avoid the congestion.
