Sunshine Coast holidaymakers are in for a treat with Jetstar's groundbreaking announcement of direct flights to Bali, set to take off from December 2024.
The new route marks a significant expansion for the budget carrier, connecting Queensland's popular coastal region directly with one of Australia's favourite international destinations for the first time.
More Than Just Bali
While the direct Denpasar service is exciting enough, Jetstar has sweetened the deal with connecting flights to Singapore. Travellers can now book a single ticket from the Sunshine Coast through to Singapore via Bali, making Asian adventures more accessible than ever for Queensland residents.
"This is an absolute game-changer for Sunshine Coast locals," said an airline representative. "No more trekking to Brisbane for international flights - now you can start your holiday right from your backyard."
Flight Schedule and Details
The new service will operate three times weekly using Airbus A320 aircraft, featuring:
- Direct flights to Denpasar (Bali)
- Seamless connections to Singapore
- Competitive budget fares
- Both economy and business class options
Flights are scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, perfectly timed for both short breaks and extended holidays.
Economic Boost for Queensland
Tourism operators on both ends are celebrating the news. The direct connection is expected to bring more international visitors to the Sunshine Coast while making Bali more accessible for Queenslanders.
"This isn't just about convenience - it's about stimulating local economies and creating new travel opportunities that simply didn't exist before," the airline spokesperson added.
Bookings for the new route are expected to open in the coming months, with the first flights taking off just in time for the 2024 summer holiday season.
