The incident occurred just after 4pm on Wednesday when a commuter train struck a truck at a level crossing on Meadow Street at Great Eastern Highway, part of the Midland line in Guildford. The collision prompted an immediate suspension of train services between Bayswater and Midland, causing significant disruptions for peak-hour commuters.

Emergency crews worked tirelessly through Wednesday evening to clear the scene. According to WA Incident Alerts, the truck was removed from the tracks by 7.15pm, and by 9.15pm, crews had nearly finished repairing the damaged boom gates and fencing. The cleanup was fully completed by early Thursday morning.

As of early Thursday, all debris had been entirely cleared, and both the train track and traffic crossing were reopened. A 6PR report noted that the scene showed no trace of the crash that had unfolded just over 12 hours earlier, with services resuming without further delay.
