Perth Couple Wins $1.28M Lotto, Retires Early, Plans Luxury Travel

A couple from a north-eastern Perth suburb are celebrating an early retirement and planning luxury travel after winning a $1.28 million Saturday Lotto jackpot. The win makes them Western Australia's 40th Division One Lotto prize winner in 2026.

From Disbelief to Dreams

The couple, still in shock over their windfall, plan to upgrade their existing wedding anniversary holiday to business class for the first time. "We already have a holiday booked to celebrate our wedding anniversary, but we will be upgrading our tickets," the man, in his sixties, said. "I think when we are sitting in business class for the first time ever it might finally sink in."

His wife, initially skeptical, shared her reaction: "I was at work when my husband called me and he sounded so calm that I wasn't sure it was really true. But here we are!"

Early Retirement and Renovations

The win has transformed their financial future. "It's a relief to be able to pay off the mortgage, do some renovations and take early retirement," the man said. He also plans to allocate funds for family adventures, adding, "I would like to travel this year with our daughter – maybe go somewhere more exotic than our usual holiday destinations."

The couple's win comes as Tuesday's $4 million Oz Lotto jackpot offers another chance for hopefuls to retire early and travel in style.
