Man Arrested After String of Sydney Break-Ins

A 29-year-old man has been charged with 23 offences after police linked him to a series of alleged break-ins across Sydney. Police will allege the man was involved in 11 break-ins across the city’s north and south between May and July, with about $64,000 worth of property stolen.

Investigation Launched in May

The Northern Beaches Police Area Command launched an investigation in May after reports of multiple break-ins in the Northern Beaches and South Sydney areas. Homes and properties in Manly Vale, Balgowlah, Manly, Seaforth, Rosebery and Mascot were allegedly targeted. Among the items stolen were two motorcycles, three e-bikes, a desktop computer, a dashcam, keys, a wallet and a handbag.

Arrest and Search Warrant

Investigators believed the incidents were linked and established multiple crime scenes as inquiries continued. About 5pm on Friday, officers from the Northern Beaches Proactive Crime Team, assisted by Auburn Police Area Command, arrested the man on Waterways Street at Wentworth Point. He was taken to Concord Hospital for medical treatment under police guard. Officers executed a search warrant at a Wentworth Point home later that night, where police allege they seized items stolen during the alleged offending.
