A crash on Kwinana Freeway northbound has closed a lane on the major Perth road, plunging motorists into peak hour traffic chaos on Wednesday afternoon.

The crash is located after South Street in Bateman and was reported by Main Roads at 4:04pm. The right lane has been completely blocked by the crash, which is causing heavy congestion. Towing services are on site.

Main Roads has urged motorists to drive carefully if travelling in the area.

Further north, a breakdown has closed a lane on Kwinana Freeway northbound. The breakdown is located on Mount Henry Bridge in Salter Point and was reported by Main Roads at 3:11pm. The left lane is blocked by the incident, which is causing heavy congestion. Main Roads has reminded motorists to exercise ‘extreme’ caution as the driver is out of the vehicle on the Freeway.

Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and consider alternative routes if possible.
