A man in his 80s was freed by emergency services following a two-car crash in south Sydney late Thursday night. The incident occurred on the Princes Highway leading to the Tom Uglys Bridge in Sylvania around 11:55 PM.
Firefighters and paramedics worked to extricate the 84-year-old van driver, who was trapped for approximately 20 minutes. He was subsequently treated for chest injuries at the scene before being transported to hospital in a stable condition.
The driver of the sedan, a 20-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries and was also taken to hospital for observation. Both individuals remain in stable condition.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision, which briefly disrupted traffic on the busy thoroughfare. The Princes Highway has since reopened.
