A Western Australian teacher has pleaded guilty to multiple counts of sexually abusing a 13-year-old student, with police alleging she gave birth to his child. Naomi Tekea Craig, 33, from Mandurah, admitted to sexually penetrating the boy, who was 12 when the offences began.
Craig was initially charged with four offences, but an additional 11 charges were added on Tuesday, all of which she pleaded guilty to. The offences occurred between August 2024 and December last year.
Her lawyer, Reid Hogan, told the court she wanted to enter guilty pleas to all charges and requested her bail be renewed. Hogan stated she could not attend court for medical reasons and provided a doctor's letter.
Magistrate Clare Cullen renewed Craig's bail with protective conditions, including no unsupervised contact with any child except her new baby. Cullen warned that breaching the conditions would put her in a very difficult position.
Last week, Police Commissioner Col Blanch said police believed the baby Craig gave birth to was fathered by the student she was accused of sexually assaulting.
