Frozen Yogurt Store Destroyed in Arson Attack

The owner of a frozen yogurt store has released CCTV footage after the business was engulfed in flames just weeks after opening, in what police believe to be an arson attack.

A suspected arsonist broke into the Chill-Lux Froyo store on Kingston Street in Underwood, Logan, and poured accelerant on the floor at approximately 4:15 am on June 6.

CCTV footage shared by the owner on social media shows the perpetrator slipping on the liquid while fleeing the store before setting it alight. The blaze started at the front window and rapidly spread across the floor and counters, leaving the store almost completely destroyed.

The store had only recently celebrated its grand opening on May 22, making the destruction particularly devastating for the owner and staff.

Police are continuing their investigation into the incident and have urged anyone with relevant information to contact police or Crime Stoppers.

Authorities are treating the fire as suspicious and are working to identify the masked offender seen in the footage. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, which had welcomed the new business just weeks earlier.
