A woman is in custody following the discovery of a child's body at a residence on the New South Wales Central Coast. Police have confirmed that the body of a four-year-old boy was found with significant injuries to his arm.
Police Attendance and Arrest
According to police, a 32-year-old woman arrived at Wyong Police Station around 4:40pm on Saturday. Officers attempted to speak with her, but when those efforts proved unsuccessful, they conducted a welfare check at a nearby home in Wyong.
At the home, officers located the body of a four-year-old boy. The child has not yet been formally identified, but it is believed the woman and the child were known to each other. The woman was subsequently arrested at Wyong Police Station.
Investigation Underway
A crime scene has been established, and detectives from Tuggerah Lakes Police District, assisted by the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad, are investigating the circumstances surrounding the child's death. Police have not released further details at this stage.
