Human remains believed to be those of missing Queensland mother Jana Armstrong have been discovered in bushland roughly an hour outside Toowoomba. Queensland Police confirmed that officers located the remains at Redbank Creek on Saturday evening and declared a crime scene. While formal identification is still pending, investigators strongly believe the remains belong to the 30-year-old, who was reported missing after being last seen at her Newtown home on July 7.
Suspect Charged with Murder
A 48-year-old man from Harristown has been charged with one count of murder, classified as a domestic violence offence. He is scheduled to appear before Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Monday. Police have not released further details about the suspect or the circumstances surrounding the alleged crime.

Investigations remain active, and authorities are continuing to appeal for anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the route between Toowoomba and Esk on the night Jana disappeared to come forward. Police are urging the public to assist in piecing together her final movements.
