A 36-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly punching his pregnant sister-in-law in the stomach in the Northern Territory.
Details of the assault
Police allege the man assaulted the 29-year-old woman, who was 30 weeks pregnant, striking her to the head and stomach in Tennant Creek on Saturday night. The incident occurred around 9:20 pm, and she was rushed to Tennant Creek Hospital by St John Ambulance.
Officers later identified the man and arrested him a short time after the assault. He remains in police custody as investigations continue.
