The three-year-old daughter of rodeo star Kelsie Domer has died after a freak accident involving a family horse on their farm in the United States.
Oaklynn Rae was killed on February 19 while her mother was holding her and leading the horse, according to People magazine. The horse is believed to have suffered a medical episode, causing it to fall and fatally crush the toddler. She could not be revived.
An obituary described Oaklynn as a blessing taken too soon, noting she loved traveling the rodeo circuit, practicing with her parents, and spending time with family and friends. Her mother Kelsie, a rodeo athlete, posted on social media that she and her husband Ryan are shattered beyond words, expressing faith that Oaklynn is in God's arms.
Instagram users offered condolences, and at a roping competition in San Antonio, Texas, horse riders wore pink accessories in tribute to Oaklynn. Her mother commented that she loved seeing all the pink.
