The video, filmed for the service held at Westminster Abbey on December 5, shows Catherine and Charlotte playing Holm Sound by Scottish composer Erland Cooper. The intimate performance was not shown during the live event but was included in ITV1's Christmas Eve broadcast and later shared on social media.
In the footage, Catherine and Charlotte play side by side at the piano, interspersed with scenes of guests arriving and the royal family decorating a Christmas tree. Prince William and their three children—Prince George, Prince Louis, and Princess Charlotte—are seen tying red paper chains with their names onto a tree outside the Abbey.
Opening the video, Catherine narrates a letter highlighting the importance of connection: 'At its heart, Christmas speaks of love taking form in the simplest, most human ways.' She emphasizes that small acts of care contribute to the 'beautiful tapestry of life.'
The carol service, launched by Catherine five years ago, honors volunteers and supporters across Britain. Catherine captioned the video, 'Love and connection through music,' and closed with thanks to those who bring 'quiet constant light' to others.
