US and Iran Reach Ceasefire Deal, Strait of Hormuz to Reopen

The United States and Iran have reached an agreement to end the war with a ceasefire that is now in effect, and the Strait of Hormuz is set to reopen. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on social media that the US and Iran will sign a deal on Friday, June 19, in Switzerland.

Peace Deal Announced

“Following intensive talks, we are pleased to announce that the Peace Deal between the United States of America and Islamic Republic of Iran has been reached,” Sharif posted on X. “Both sides have declared the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon.”

Trump Confirms Agreement

US President Donald Trump confirmed the announcement, posting on Truth Social that the deal with Iran “is now complete.” “The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all! I hereby fully authorize the toll free opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and, simultaneously herewith, authorize the immediate removal of the United States Naval blockade. Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!” Trump said.
