Canberra Man Jailed for Road Rage, Fined for Nazi Salute at Synagogue

A 26-year-old Canberra man has been sentenced to three years and nine months in jail for a series of road rage incidents and fined $10,000 for performing a Nazi salute outside a synagogue in Queensland.

Michigan Addison Bullock appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court today, where he was convicted of 10 offences including reckless driving and assault. The court heard that between October 2024 and February 2025, Bullock deliberately rammed multiple vehicles in Canberra, causing them to lose control and spin into oncoming traffic.

In one incident captured on dash-cam footage, Bullock rammed a ute, climbed into its tray, broke the rear window, and kicked the driver repeatedly. Magistrate James Lawton described the attacks as 'brutal, and to a certain extent, unprovoked and shocking,' noting they were committed for trivial reasons.

The court also heard about a separate 2023 incident where Bullock assaulted a neighbour and distributed footage of the attack to boost his ego. Bullock admitted in court to being 'sort of immature' and read a letter of apology, saying he had reflected on his offending.

During the investigation into the driving offences, police found an image on Bullock's phone showing him performing a Nazi salute in public view outside a synagogue in Queensland in October 2024. Magistrate Lawton called it 'blatant disrespect for a religion' and ruled it an aggravating factor in sentencing.

Bullock was sentenced to three years and nine months in jail with a non-parole period of 15 months, backdated to January 2025, making him eligible for release in April 2026. The $10,000 fine for the religious vilification offence was deemed already paid due to time served in custody.
