Higgins Shocks With Jillaroos Recall For Pacific Final

Olivia Higgins has been named to start at hooker for Australia in the Pacific Championships final against New Zealand, replacing the injured Keeley Davis (shoulder). The Jillaroos will face the Kiwis at Western Sydney Stadium on Sunday at 1:35pm AEDT.

Star fullback Tamika Upton returns after recovering from a calf injury, reclaiming the number one jersey from Abbi Church, who moves to the bench. Church scored a try and set up another in her Test debut last week. Jakiya Whitfeld also joins the starting side on the wing.

Jillaroos coach Jess Skinner said the team must improve after a gritty 10-6 win over New Zealand at Eden Park. 'We know we have to be better in all facets of the game to come out on top again in the final,' Skinner said.

The match will decide the Pacific Championships title, with Australia aiming to make the most of home support. 'It's going to be an incredible atmosphere, and we want to make Australia proud,' Skinner added.
