Lightscape 2026: Kings Park Transformed into Illuminated Winter Wonderland
Lightscape 2026: Kings Park Winter Illuminated Trail

More than 2000 guests gathered at Kings Park and Botanic Garden for the VIP preview night of Lightscape 2026, where they were the first to experience one of Perth's most anticipated winter events.

As darkness fell, the park was transformed into a captivating 1.8km illuminated trail, with media, influencers, sponsors and event partners immersed in a world of colour, sound and creativity. The evening marked the official start of Perth's winter events calendar and offered a rare opportunity to see the natural beauty of Kings Park reimagined after dark.

Highlight Installations

Among the installations generating the most excitement were Herbum, the striking work by French studio TILT featuring towering illuminated stems reaching up to eight metres into the night sky; Fish are Jumping, a playful and poetic artwork that mimics fish leaping from the water through bursts of light and sound; and Mycelium Network, an enchanting display inspired by the hidden fungal networks beneath the forest floor. There were even firepits to mingle around and keep warm with the option to toast flavoured marshmallows for $5.
