Spencer Stuns Favourites To Win Mandurah Cup

Spencer caused a major upset by winning the Group 2 Mandurah Cup (488m) at Greyhounds WA Mandurah last Friday. The Rod Noden-trained greyhound, sent to the boxes at long odds, seized an early lead with an excellent jump and never looked back.

The former Victorian racer, who joined Noden's kennels in early September, is known as a strong runner over longer distances. Once in front, Spencer powered ahead, extending his margin throughout the race.

Reserve runner Macaroni Monelli gave chase but could not catch Spencer, who crossed the finish line in 27.08 seconds. Spencer won by more than eight lengths, with race favourite Iconic Jet finishing third.
