Quentin Tarantino and Kylie Minogue have been spotted in the Welsh seaside town of Porthcawl, filming a new movie directed by prolific British film-maker Jamie Adams. The pair were photographed at the Saltwater Inn, where they reportedly "laughed and sang together" for a scene set during a wake. Additionally, they filmed a funeral scene at a church in the nearby village of Newton.
Tarantino's Cardiff Visit
BBC Wales also reported that Tarantino was seen on Friday at the Parkgate Hotel in Cardiff, having a drink with film crew members. The project marks a collaboration between the Oscar-winning director and pop star Minogue, though details of the film remain under wraps.
Adams' Previous Work with Tarantino
According to a report in Variety, the new film is by Adams, who previously cast Tarantino in his film Only What We Carry, which premiered on 6 June at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York. Described as an "improvisational drama shot in six days on the Normandy coast," Only What We Carry stars Charlotte Gainsbourg as a dancer and Simon Pegg as her former choreographer, with Tarantino appearing in a small role as "a wealthy benefactor."
Adams on Tarantino's Involvement
In a Variety report in February, Adams said he had sent Tarantino the script for Only What We Carry, then met him over Zoom and persuaded him to appear. Adams noted: "Once you hear his voice, you’re transported. It’s like Disneyland for film-makers."
