Overview of the 2026 Tour de France Route
The 2026 Tour de France will cover 3,500 kilometers over 21 stages, starting in Florence, Italy, and finishing on the Champs-Élysées in Paris. The race includes two individual time trials, five mountain stages, and nine flat stages suited for sprinters.
Grand Depart in Italy
For the first time, the Tour begins in Italy with a stage from Florence to Rimini, a 200km route through the Apennines. Stage 2 is a team time trial in Bologna, and Stage 3 ends in Turin.
Mountain Stages in the Alps and Pyrenees
Stage 7 features the first summit finish at La Super Planche des Belles Filles. The Alps are tackled in Stage 14 with a finish at Alpe d'Huez, while the Pyrenees include Stage 16 to the Col du Tourmalet.
Time Trials and Sprint Stages
Stage 5 is a 30km individual time trial in Burgundy. Sprinters will contest Stages 4, 6, 8, and 12, with flat finishes in Dijon, Chalon-sur-Saône, and Nîmes.
Final Week and Paris Finish
The final week includes a challenging stage in the Massif Central (Stage 18) and a 40km time trial in Nice (Stage 20). The race concludes on Stage 21 with a parade into Paris.
