Patty Mills Signs With La Laguna Tenerife In Spain

Australian basketball legend Patty Mills has signed with Spanish club La Laguna Tenerife, marking his first move to European basketball. The 37-year-old guard joined the Canary Islands-based team last week after nearly a year without playing professionally.

Mills arrived in Tenerife with enthusiasm, passing a medical check and practicing on his new homecourt. In a video released by the club, he expressed happiness and said the decision felt right. He highlighted the club's values of family, culture, and community, and its passionate fanbase.

Prior to signing, Mills served as general manager of the University of Hawaii men's basketball program, mentoring and recruiting players. His last NBA game was for the Los Angeles Clippers in April 2024. In August 2024, he and his wife Alyssa had a daughter.
