Curtis Luck Wins First Cottesloe Open Title in Playoff

Curtis Luck claimed his first Cottesloe Open title in a dramatic playoff at the Cottesloe Golf Club earlier this month. The local player, who has been a member of the club since 2006, secured the victory after a tight contest with runner-up Jye Halls.

Halls forced the playoff by eagling the 17th hole and birdying the 18th, but Luck held his nerve. After the pair halved the first playoff hole with matching pars, Luck sealed the win on the second return to the 18th, again finishing with a par.

The win was particularly significant for Luck, who had finished runner-up in both the 2025 and 2024 tournaments. It marked his first 'blue jacket' victory at the event.

Halls, a New South Wales player, made an impressive professional debut following a successful amateur career that included a win at the 2025 Australian Amateur Championship. He has also represented NSW at the Interstate Series.

Joondalup player Amie Phobubpa took home the Leading Amateur trophy, while Michael Long claimed the Cottesloe Senior Invitational title.

Cottesloe Golf Club CEO Tracey-Lea Tiley praised the event, saying, 'Seeing a local talent like Curtis Luck win his first Cottesloe Open at home, in such a thrilling finish, was a standout moment.' This year marked the 79th edition of the tournament, the second longest-running Open event in Western Australia.
