Collingwood's injury crisis has deepened, with Jordan De Goey ruled out for up to a month and Mason Cox sidelined for at least six weeks. The reigning premiers are counting the cost of a mounting injury toll following their draw with Fremantle.
De Goey missed Friday's match after experiencing groin awareness in round 10. Further assessment revealed an acute rectus abdominal tendon tear. The 28-year-old is expected to return within three to four weeks.
Cox sustained a concussion and a Grade 2 medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury in the same game. The 33-year-old ruck-forward will be out for six weeks while rehabilitating the MCL injury.
Forward Brody Mihocek re-injured his hamstring against Fremantle and will miss three to five weeks. Joe Richards suffered a metatarsal fracture and will be sidelined for four to five weeks.
Jamie Elliott remains on a modified training program due to a vascular issue, targeting a return in two to five weeks. Tom Mitchell (plantar fasciitis) has a similar timeline, while Will Hoskin-Elliott (hamstring) is expected back in a fortnight.
On a positive note, Jeremy Howe (groin) and Jack Bytel (concussion) are expected to be available for Friday's clash with the Western Bulldogs, pending tests at Wednesday's training session.
