North Melbourne defender Toby Pink and his wife Chloe have spoken out after online trolls targeted their wedding photos, prompting them to reshoot the images to reclaim their special day.
The couple, who married in April, faced vicious body-shaming comments after their courthouse ceremony was featured in a major newspaper. Chloe described the experience as 'very sad' and said the negativity overshadowed what should have been a time of joy.
In an interview on Channel 7's The Morning Show, Chloe said she naively expected congratulations but instead received mass trolling about her body shape. Toby expressed pride in his wife's resilience and her decision to stand up for herself and others.
The idea to reshoot the wedding photos came from podcast host Steph Claire Smith, who offered to organize the shoot after hearing Chloe's story. The couple released only one photo from the new session, keeping the rest private to protect their memories.
Chloe called for stronger online protections, suggesting that social media accounts should require verified identities to reduce trolling. She emphasized that the issue lies with the trolls, not with those being targeted.
