Queensland police have released video footage of two incidents in Townsville from February, believing they are linked to a home invasion in the suburb of Yabulu. The incidents include a fire at a supplement store and a shooting at a nearby gym, both occurring in the early morning of February 9.
Detective Inspector Dave Barron of the Townsville Criminal Investigation Branch stated that the fire, shooting, and a car fire later that morning are 'obviously linked.' Video shows a ute reversing into the Gym N Juice supplement store before a hooded person sets the building alight. Another clip shows the same ute at the One Million Strong gym, where a hooded person shoots at the business.
Police also released images of masked men with large guns at a home in Yabulu from September 2025. Officers say offenders forced entry into a Purono Parkway home, resulting in shots being fired. Detective Inspector Barron confirmed tangible links between the home invasion and the business incidents.
No arrests have been made, but police have multiple persons of interest. Detective Inspector Barron assured there is no threat to the community and urged anyone with information to contact CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000. No injuries were reported in any of the incidents.
