First Attack Leaves Woman with Serious Facial Injuries
The first reported assault took place in the early hours of last Friday morning. A 26-year-old woman was asleep in her unit when she was allegedly attacked by an unknown offender sometime between 4:30 am and 6:00 am. The victim sustained deep cuts to her face and hand, injuries that police believe were inflicted by a large bladed weapon.
The woman presented herself to John Hunter Hospital for treatment on Saturday, which prompted the launch of a police investigation. Authorities have noted that she has not yet provided a formal statement to detectives regarding the traumatic event.
Second Incident Involves Three Armed Assailants
Later on the same day, emergency services were called back to the Fowler Street unit block around 8:00 pm following reports of another home invasion. In this incident, a 44-year-old man was allegedly assaulted and robbed by three men who were armed with edged weapons.
The victim was treated at the scene for lacerations and bruising before being transported to John Hunter Hospital for further medical attention. Cash and personal items were stolen during this attack, adding to the severity of the crime.
Third Resident Targeted Days Later
The violence continued three days later, on Monday, when a third resident—a 32-year-old man—was allegedly attacked by an unknown offender inside the same building. He suffered lacerations to his back and head, injuries that police say are also consistent with a large bladed weapon.
The man was taken to John Hunter Hospital with serious injuries, marking the third hospitalization linked to these incidents within a short timeframe.

New South Wales Police are actively investigating whether the three separate home invasions are linked, given their proximity in location and the similar nature of the assaults. The use of bladed weapons in each case has raised particular concerns among investigators.
