Police Pursuit Ends with Arrests in Hamilton Car Park
Two teenage boys are set to face a children's court after a dramatic police chase through the streets of Hamilton in Newcastle. The incident, which occurred on the night of November 13, 2025, began when officers on patrol attempted to stop a white Isuzu MUX on Hassell Street.
Police checks quickly revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen from a home in Cameron Park the previous day, November 12. When the driver of the SUV failed to pull over for police, a pursuit was initiated.
Chase Concludes, Suspects Flee on Foot
The pursuit wound its way through the Hamilton area before the stolen vehicle finally came to a stop in a parking lot, again on Hassell Street. At this point, all four occupants of the car fled the scene on foot, leading to a swift response from local officers.
Within a short period, police successfully located and arrested two of the individuals—a 14-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy—in a nearby area. The allegedly stolen Isuzu was seized by authorities to undergo a thorough forensic examination.
Teens Charged and Refused Bail
Both teenagers were transported to the Newcastle Police Station for processing. The 15-year-old boy was charged with engaging in a police pursuit and breach of bail. The 14-year-old boy was charged with being carried in a conveyance taken without the owner's consent, along with a breach of bail.
The court denied bail to both adolescents, and they were scheduled to appear before a children's court on November 14. Newcastle Police have confirmed that their inquiries into the incident are ongoing as they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the stolen vehicle and the other individuals involved.
