Newcastle police have arrested five teenagers following a car chase through Lake Macquarie early this morning.
Officers were called to a shopping centre at Jewells after reports of a break and enter. Police saw a car leaving the scene and began pursuing the vehicle when the driver allegedly failed to stop.
The chase ended when the car spun out at a road works site at New Lambton Heights. The driver and front passenger escaped on foot but were later arrested, along with three other teenagers who were in the back seat.
