Man's Arm Broken in Wollongong Home Invasion, Police Hunt Suspect with Rat's Tail

A 41-year-old man suffered a broken arm after being attacked with a wooden pole during a home invasion in Wollongong. The incident occurred at a Macquarie Street unit around 5:30pm on Saturday, August 9.

Police were called to the scene following reports of a break and enter. According to authorities, a man entered the flat brandishing a wooden pole and demanding money. He then struck the 41-year-old victim, breaking his arm.

A 42-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man who were also inside the unit were threatened with the pole. The suspect attempted to steal an electric scooter before fleeing the scene.

Police have released CCTV footage of a man running from the unit complex. He is described as being of Mediterranean or Middle Eastern appearance, aged 25 to 30, 175-180cm tall, with a thin build, a beard, and a rat's tail hairstyle. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, black long pants, black shoes, and carrying a black and white jacket.
