A 32-year-old man has been charged after allegedly leading police on a high-speed chase with two children in the vehicle in New South Wales' Far West.

The incident began about 10pm on Saturday when the man allegedly ignored police directions to stop for roadside breath testing on Menindee Road at Broken Hill.

A pursuit was initiated onto the Barrier Highway, where the vehicle allegedly reached speeds of up to 180km/h in a 110km/h zone. The chase continued for about 160 kilometres before Wilcannia Police deployed road spikes, bringing the sedan to a stop.
