Teens Assault Nail Salon Employee After $140 Manicure in Newcastle

A family-run nail salon in Newcastle, New South Wales, has released video footage of a disturbing incident where two teenage girls allegedly assaulted an employee and fled without paying for a $140 manicure.

The incident occurred at Get Polished Waratah around 2:30pm on Sunday. The two girls had full sets of acrylic nails applied before claiming there was no internet to pay and attempting to leave, according to the salon's Vietnamese owner, Lee.

A male staff member pursued the girls to the car park, where he was allegedly kicked in the stomach and slapped in the face. The girls also made racist remarks, telling him to 'go back to your own country'.

Video shared online shows one of the girls swearing at staff from her scooter, shouting 'Try and catch me on this you f****n dopey c***'. The employee has not returned to work since the assault.

Police have confirmed the incident was reported to Waratah Police Station. Newcastle City Police have released descriptions of two Caucasian females: one with blonde hair wearing a black Champion hoodie and grey track pants, and another with dark brown hair in a grey Ellesse jumper and dark pants.

The salon is not pursuing charges, citing previous similar incidents where teenagers faced no consequences. Instead, they are calling for an apology, stating on Facebook: 'It is not about the money, but we need you coming back to apologise for what happened today.'
