Police Hunt Two Men After Geelong West Brick Attack

A manhunt is underway in Geelong West after a 26-year-old engineering student was allegedly attacked by two strangers while sitting in his car. The victim was waiting for a friend on Little Collins Street in Melbourne's CBD around 11:45pm on March 28 when the suspects poured alcohol over his windscreen.

When the student got out to confront them, a violent altercation ensued. Dashcam footage shows him being thrown to the ground, hitting his head on the bonnet, before a glass bottle was smashed over him. The victim told 7NEWS he was punched and repeatedly kicked during the attack.

The pair allegedly walked away, leaving the student seriously injured on the road. Passers-by rushed to help before he was taken to hospital with a broken jaw. “I have a broken jaw,” he said. “Three sides have been broken and I had three surgeries and two months without food, without moving much.”

Almost three months later, the international student, who has been in Australia for three years, is still recovering and says the attack has left him feeling unsafe. Police have released images of two men believed to be in their mid-20s who may be able to assist with the investigation.

The first man is of Caucasian appearance with short brown hair, wearing a white T-shirt, black jacket, black pants, and black-and-white runners. The second man is of Pacific Islander appearance with a medium build and short brown hair, wearing a grey T-shirt, black hooded top, black pants, and white runners.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, has footage, or has information about the identity of the pair is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
