Police have released images of two armed teenagers allegedly responsible for a stabbing and a series of carjackings along the Queensland coast. The suspects are believed to be back in the greater Brisbane region after a 24-hour crime spree between Brisbane and Maryborough.
Officers said the two men first attempted to steal a car parked in a driveway at a Sunnybank Hills home about midday on Thursday. When the female owner jumped into her car to prevent the theft, the offender jumped out and into a stolen white coupe, where an accomplice was waiting. A man at the home ran to the coupe and tried to take the keys but sustained stab wounds to his hand.
A police helicopter tracked the offenders as they travelled north, where they crashed a car in Maryborough before assaulting a 63-year-old man and stealing his vehicle. The pair's latest offences occurred in the Fraser Coast region, where they allegedly stole a white sedan from an address in Dundowran Beach last night and used it for a petrol drive-off at Kilkivan, west of Gympie, at 6:30am on Friday.
The men are described as being in their late teens with short dark hair. Police have warned anyone who sees the pair not to approach them, but instead call triple-0.
