Greenacre Shooting Victim Refuses to Cooperate with Police

A 26-year-old man shot in the legs during a targeted attack in a suburban driveway is refusing to assist detectives, police say. The victim was injured outside homes on Old Kent Rd in the Sydney suburb of Greenacre about 7.15pm on Wednesday.

Police believe the shooting was targeted, with the offender approaching on foot and firing multiple shots at the victim. The shooter then fled in a waiting grey Audi Q3. The victim, who is known to police, was taken to Bankstown Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detective Inspector Nathan Green said the victim is not assisting police at this stage. CCTV footage shows a man wearing black clothing and a face covering fleeing the scene. Police have appealed for witnesses and anyone with security footage to come forward.

“It was a brazen attack and we are fortunate that nobody was more seriously injured or killed,” Green said. Crime scenes were established at the driveway and hospital as investigations continue.
