Gosford Law Firm Firebombed, Staff Traumatised

New photos from inside a Gosford law firm reveal extensive damage from an alleged gas cylinder attack that left staff traumatised. The incident occurred last Thursday afternoon when two explosions rocked separate legal offices in the Donnison Street building.

Gary Middleton, 66, of Wallarah, has been charged with two counts of destroying or damaging property with intent to endanger life. Police allege he first entered the Gosford Legal Aid NSW office and ignited a small LPG cylinder, sparking a fire in the reception area.

Shortly after, a similar device was allegedly left in the hallway outside a criminal law firm on the third floor. Criminal lawyer Manny Conditsis confirmed 26 staff were in the office, with 16 feeling trapped when the fire broke out.

While the offices themselves were relatively unscathed due to glass walls and doors, common areas suffered severe damage: the men's bathroom door was blown off, hallway carpet melted, and walls blackened with soot and bubbling paint.

Mr Conditsis said many traumatised staff would continue working remotely into the new year while repairs are completed. Middleton remains in custody and is expected to face Gosford Local Court on February 7.
