Dayne Brajkovich, a heavily tattooed Perth bikie, has been fined $500 after admitting to displaying a Nazi swastika tattoo on his chin. The tattoo, which he later modified to comply with Western Australian law, was deemed a banned symbol under legislation passed in 2024.
Appearing in Perth Magistrates Court on Monday, Brajkovich's lawyer, Patrick Gardner, argued that the tattoo was inked before the symbol was outlawed and did not signify any affiliation with a group. Brajkovich pleaded guilty to displaying a Nazi symbol in a public place, along with charges of possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a prescription drug, and possession of a prohibited drug.
The charges stemmed from a police search of his Burswood home in September, where officers found steroids and knuckle dusters. Gardner said Brajkovich had forgotten about the knuckle dusters. He was fined $500 for each offence.
Brajkovich left court flanked by five supporters, including Perth bikie gang member Troy Mercanti, who described the case as a 'big fuss for nothing' and called Brajkovich 'a good man.' The pair wore matching black and white NFL Raiders jerseys.
Brajkovich has a history of police attention, including involvement in a violent brawl with murdered former Rebels gang boss Nick Martin in 2020. His home was also the target of a drive-by shooting in 2021.
