Accused Stalker's Mental Fitness to Be Assessed by ACT Court

A Canberra man accused of stalking a woman in Queensland by sending hundreds of lewd text messages has appeared in the ACT Supreme Court. Marcin Kaczmarek is alleged to have sent hundreds of unsolicited text messages to the Queensland woman over a two-week period.

It has previously been alleged in court that the content of the messages was disgusting and that Kaczmarek also sent pictures of his genitals to the woman. Twelve other people across Australia, including two children, are being investigated as possible victims of harassing text messages from Kaczmarek.

On Thursday, Justice Richard Refshauge indicated that he will determine in a hearing next week if Kaczmarek is mentally fit to plead to the charges brought against him.
