Anvaya Resort Bali: Luxury and Accessibility Under $200

The Anvaya Resort Bali, located on the strip between Kuta and German Beaches, offers five-star waterfront accommodation starting at less than $200 per night. Just a 13-minute drive from the international airport, the resort boasts high occupancy rates even during the low season. In late January, after the Christmas and New Year rush, half of the rooms were occupied, a rare occurrence for many five-star resorts in Bali. The property is fully wheelchair accessible and offers free child-minding, contributing to its popularity.

The resort's name, Anvaya, means 'connection' in Sanskrit, and the design reflects different historical periods of Bali. The entrance and driveway are styled after the Bali Aga, or ancient Balinese, featuring thick greenery, stone walls, earthy tones, and giant clay jars. The lobby represents the spatial harmony of Hinduism, with reflective pools, decorative tiles, soaring columns, and intricate artworks. Beyond the lobby, the modern era is showcased with green lawns, lagoon-shaped pools, sun loungers, and shaded areas. The Sands restaurant and bar, located on the beach, offers floor-to-ceiling glass windows and minimalist furniture.

The resort has 492 rooms across seven categories. Standard Deluxe rooms are 30 square meters, equipped with flat-screen TVs, coffee and tea makers, balconies with pool views, and free non-alcoholic drinks and snacks. While the furniture and fabrics are somewhat dated due to the last renovation a decade ago, the king-size beds are comfortable. Premiere rooms are larger at 35.5 square meters, with ground-floor options featuring private gardens or decks with direct pool access. The family Premiere room is 62.2 square meters, accommodating two adults and two children, and includes a disabled bathroom. The top-tier Anvaya Villa spans 440 square meters, with two bedrooms, dual rain showers, an open-air kitchen, living room, private pool, and ocean view, priced at $2,500 per night.

Facilities include seven pools, two restaurants (Kulit for Indonesian cuisine and Sands for Western fare), free bicycle hire, a gym, ping-pong table, day spa, boutique, business center, and a kids' club with a 60-centimeter-deep pool and mini basketball court. The staff are noted for their exceptional service, particularly towards disabled guests, providing wheelchair assistance from the airport and throughout the resort. Guest Stewart Bailey, a teacher from Outback NSW, praised the resort's beachfront location, cleanliness, and convenience to the airport for his final stay in Bali.
