A 16-year-old boy has been charged following a fatal crash in Corio early Sunday that killed a 17-year-old passenger and injured two others.
Police allege the teen was driving a Mazda when it crashed into a pole on School Road around 2am. The front-seat passenger, a 17-year-old boy, died at the scene.
The driver faces charges including culpable driving and dangerous driving causing death. Two other passengers were injured and taken to hospital.
The investigation is ongoing, and the accused is expected to appear in a children's court at a later date.
