Australian fashion influencer Elle Ferguson has claimed to be one of the first people in the world to acquire the new Chanel Maxi Flapbag, which retails at $15,090. Ferguson, who gained fame on The Block in 2022, shared her purchase on Instagram after visiting Chanel in Paris.
In a video posted to her 680,000 followers, Ferguson said, “I’m pretty much one of the first people to have this bag in the world. I still can’t believe it happened, so this whole experience has literally been a dream come true.” She chose the light brown version, describing it as “the colour of the season” and a perfect travel companion.
Explaining her choice, Ferguson noted, “I have a million black bags” and said the new bag would complement every fashion look. She added, “I cannot tell you how long I have wanted a maxi Chanel bag...I held out, I saved up, cost per wear, like this is it.”
Ferguson also purchased a $1,660 Chanel belt after seeing actress Margot Robbie wearing it. Her followers reacted positively, with one commenting, “Are you joking? We’re obsessed. Love love love.”
The 40-year-old model and podcaster previously faced social media backlash in 2023 for modeling a revealing lilac dress by Loewe. The video garnered 8.2 million views, and Ferguson defended the garment, calling it “the most beautiful dress.” She told The Daily Telegraph, “I loved that dress. I still love that dress. I put it on and I stood there proudly.”
