Wandi Bushfire Downgraded to Advice Level After Containment

A bushfire in Wandi that prompted a watch and act alert has been downgraded after firefighters contained and controlled the blaze. The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) confirmed there is currently no threat to lives and homes, but urged residents to remain vigilant as conditions could change.

The fire was reported around 2:41 PM on Wednesday and is believed to have started near Bodeman Road in northern Wandi. The affected area is bounded by Wandi Drive to the north, De Haer Road to the east, Bodeman Road to the south, and Lyon Road.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area. Those driving through should reduce speed, turn on headlights, and watch for emergency services personnel. If visibility is poor, drivers should pull over, keep headlights and hazard lights on, and wait until smoke clears.
